Start work with your host employer
- Upon receiving the application, eligible candidates will be contacted and screened.
- You will be invited to an Initial Assessment Interview to discuss your application and suitability for working with MAG.
- You will complete a Skills Assessment within your trade.
- You will complete Aptitude and Psychometric Testing. This is not a pass or fail assessment, as it is designed to help you improve skills and match with suitable apprenticeships.

Start work with your host employer

- You will complete a Skills Assessment within your trade.
- You will complete Aptitude and Psychometric Testing. This is not a pass or fail assessment, as it is designed to help you improve skills and match with suitable apprenticeships.
- Successful applicants will be offered a Contract of Employment.
- Attend a MAG Induction, where MAG will explain all contractual obligations between yourself, MAG, and relevant third parties.
- MAG will supply all relevant personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniform.
- We will register your Training Contract with State Training Authority (STA) so you become a registered Australian Apprentice.
- We will enrol you with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) who will deliver your off-the-job training (trade school). Training plans are compulsory.
- You will then sign a confirmation of assignment with your Host Employer.
- Upon commencement, your Apprentice Manager will be in regular contact with you to provide support and mentoring.
- Your Apprentice Manager will make regular site visits.
- Your performance will be monitored and reviewed and you will be provided with consistent feedback.
- At the successful completion of your probation period, you will become a permanent employee of MAG.
WHO IS INVOLVED?

HOST EMPLOYERS
Employ the apprentice for an agreed duration and provides the apprentice with valuable on-the-job experience and skills, as they develop being competent and qualified in their chosen trade.It takes a team to complete an apprenticeship, below are key parties involved.
APPRENTICE MENTOR
You will be consistently supported by a mentor throughout your employment with MAG. Their goal is to support your development as an apprentice both off and on the job.
PARENT/GUARDIAN
If the apprentice is under the age of 18 years, a parent or guardian must co-s ign all relevant contractual agreements
REGISTERED TRAINING ORGANISATION (RTO)
The RTO (or TAFE) delivers the formal training and issues the nationally accredited qualification upon completion.
STATE TRAINING AUTHORITY (STA)
STAs are responsible for approving, registering, amending , monitoring and regulating Training Contracts

Our support and mentoring structures are set up to help you with all work-related issues or concerns related to your on-the-job training, schooling, administration, or anything that may pop up along the way.
HOW MAG SUPPORTS YOU
Your MAG consultant will be in regular contact to support you in successfully completing your apprenticeship.
MAG will also:
- Ensure you are work ready and assist in enhancing every day life skills.
- Guarantee weekly pay.
- Conduct regular visits to your workplace to ensure you are developing the skills and knowledge required to achieve competency in your trade.
- Regularly conduct site audits to ensure you are working in a safe work environment
- Monitor your performance to assess skill set or training needs.
- Be available for private and confidential conversations
